with reference to my Despatch No.596 anted

December 18th last to the Marquesa Jurzon, and with

respect to the confiscation by the Persian frontier

Authorities of the British passports of Haji Muhammad

Bean Nemazi and his son, I have the nonour to

transmit to you copy of a Despatch Ro.6 dated Jan-

uary 15ta last from His Britannic Majesty's Jonsul,

shiraz, in walon ur.chick gives fuller details re-

apecting the national status of Mr. Nemasi.

In view of the question of qual nationality

involved and pending the receipt of your instructions

in reply to my above quoted Despatch, beg leave

to suggest that liesars. lemzi shoula travel on

Persian passports to Bombay and Zaruchi and then ob-

tain fresh British passports for their onward jour-

ney to Hongkong. As however a precedent is involved

I beg leave to request your instructions by telegram.
